GrandPappy's Poker Series Summer Circuit

The Summer Circuit is a dynamic Texas Hold'em tournament that will run for 3 months from July to September. Players will have 3 opportunities per week(4 if they are VIP) to play in a tournament to earn points, chips and prizes. At the end of the 3 months the top 10 point holders will be invited to a final tournament to determine the winner of the entire circuit. 

How to Sign up:

If you are interested in playing in out tournament you need to be a member of our discord. Once you join all you need to do is contact an admin and say that you want to join!

 
What happens after you sign up:

After you sign up for the tournament your name will be added to a waitlist that is publicly available on our discord. The wait list is currently updated manually each game. Because our system is manual it's possible that we make mistakes. If you think an error was made contact an admin with your concerns. On each tournament day there will be an announcement posted in the “poker-announcements” channel. The announcement will include the time of the tournament, the lineup for the game as well as the waitlist. Due to personal schedules this announcement may only be posted 2 hours before a game begins but you will know if you are in an upcoming game because the waitlist is always available. After each game players will be added back to the end of the waitlist in the order the busted in. If you know you cannot play in an upcoming game or you forgot and see yourself in the lineup and cannot play, notify an admin as soon as you can. You will not be penalized. If you signed up for the tournament, did not show up and did not contact an admin you will be moved to the back of the waitlist. If this happens twice in a row you will be removed from the waitlist. You can still play in the tournament, you just have to contact an admin to sign up again. If you have special schedule requirements we can work with those in reason just contact an admin. 

Event Breakdown:

The Summer Circuit will start on Saturday July 3rd, 2021 and end on Saturday September 25th, 2021. Players may sign up and join the tournament at any point in-between these dates. Starting on July 3rd, 2021, there will be tournaments on Tuesday's at 6PM EST, Thursdays at 6PM EST, Saturday's at 9PM EST, and Sunday's at 9PM EST. There will only be ONE tournament on each of these days.

Weekly Games:

Each weekly game will consist of 10 players. If there is an instance where 10 players cannot join we may continue with less players, however players will not be able to earn the maximum number of points. 
Example: If we decide to start a game with only 8 players the first person to bust still earns the 10th place points not 8th. The winner of that tournament will earn 3rd place points.

 Points are awarded based on the order players bust.

3rd   Place 17 points

4th   Place 12 points

5th   Place 10 points

6th   Place   8 points

7th   Place   6 points

8th   Place   4 points

9th   Place   2 points

10th Place   1 points

In the event that we reach the start time and not all players have shown up, then the players that did not show up will be moved to the back of the waitlist and new players will be added to the game. New players will be added by a first come first serve basis with waitlist priority. This means if a new player is needed then whomever is in the discord asking to play will be added. If there are multiple in the discord asking to play then whichever player is higher on the waitlist will be added. It is unreasonable to make the players that showed up on time to wait any longer than necessary for new players so we cannot individually contact each person on the waitlist to see if they want to play. This will only be done in the extremely rare circumstance that we cannot get 10 players to join a game. We suggest you join the discord shortly before a game starts even if you are not in the line up if you want a chance to play. In an effort to keep the poker series as fair as possible we cannot accept any communications whether public or private that have to do with playing in an upcoming tournament other than for reasons previously mentioned. Do not contact an admin asking if you can play in an upcoming game. All members that work to make this poker series happen do it for free on there own time. Everyone strives to return any questions or concerns as best as they can but this method of communication cannot be relied on for player spots in a game and is unfair to other players.

The top three players in each game will earn chips and unique items. The weekly games are complete when all but one player is busted. Players will chose there place on the table by high card at the start of each game. A timer will be started at the beginning of the first hand and every 8 minutes blinds will double(Starting 500/1000). The timer will be paused in the event of a All-In, player hold, break, or if there is a technical issue that needs to be resolved.

Final Tournament:

At the end of Summer Circuit(Saturday, September 25th, 2021 last game of event) the top 10 point holders will be invited to a final tournament to decide a single champion. The Final Tournament date will be decided at the end of the circuit to best accommodate the top 10 point holders. All players in the Final Tournament will receive unique prizes. The top 3 players in the Final Tournament will receive chips.(chip prize is based on the total amount of player buy-ins; 60% for first, 30% for second, and 10% for third)  The top player will be named "Summer Circuit 2021 Champion" and given that title in the discord, will get additional unique items, a one month VIP Membership token, and 100 USD(payable via Paypal). Players will chose there seats on the table by rank. A timer will be stared at the beginning of the first hand and every 20 minutes blinds will double(Starting 500/1000). The timer will be paused in the event of a All-In, break, or if there is a technical issue that needs to be resolved.
